Case#1: Smidswater Italics

Smidswater is a Dutch graphic design studio with offices in The Hague and Breda.
They had a corporate font (designed by Paulus Nabbe and Onno Bevoort) but wanted to expand the package adding italics and light weights. Ramiro Espinoza was commissioned for this and now Smidswater Font is a complete set extensively used in the studio's indentity. See the complete set.

Case#2: Maitena Font

Maitena Burundarena is one of the most famous Latin American comic artists. Her largely acclaimed drawings and texts transcend humour and are deep reflexions about feminism, love, work relationships and social classes.
Back in 2003, following the success of Maitena's comic books and the need to translate her work to other languages, a font that imitates her handwriting was developed to allow designers in other countries to get the same look inside the comic balloons.
