This family began as a project in the 'Type]Media' course at the KABK in The Hague. The original idea was to develop a typeface based on 'pointed pen' principles but setting it apart from Didot and Bodoni's
historical models. As the alphabet evolved its look seemed to fit the needs of art and women's magazines so the project was oriented in that direction: a complete family, with display and text versions that can cover every typographic level of a classy magazine. Ricardo Rousselot and Ramiro Espinoza are working together in the development of this family.
Beukeboom script
Overview
Leo Beukeboom was the in-house sign painter for 'Heineken' brewery for more than 30 years. In time he became an accomplished and skilful lettering artist. Heavily influenced by Dutch writing masters such as Cornelis Boissens and Jan van de Velde, he created a unique script style that became one of the distinctive characteristic of traditional 'brown cafes' in Amsterdam. Leo is now working in the adaptation of his script model to OpenType typography.
